What are the AIR Awards, a message from our Chairmen

Welcome to Pittsburgh 's Thirteenth Annual Achievement In Radio Awardsan industry-wide competition that honors the hard work, creativity and quality of radio in the greater Pittsburgh market, while supporting the work of the March of Dimes.

The A.I.R. Awards is an opportunity for both stations and advertisers to receive recognition for the work they do all year round. Whether you want to enter a single commercial, an entire campaign, a morning show or a newscast, we think you’ll find just the right category. Since its Pittsburgh debut in 1996, the A.I.R. Awards has continued to grow as a respected form of recognition for excellence in radio broadcasting, and has raised more that $320,000 for the March of Dimes.

The radio industry and the March of Dimes have had a successful partnership for seventy years. In 1938, radio personality Eddie Cantor urged his listeners to send their spare dimes to President Roosevelt at the White House to help the fight against polio. He used the power of radio to communicate his urgent message and coined the phrase “March of Dimes.” Today, radio and members of the radio and advertising communities continue to significantly influence and educate countless listeners.

The March of Dimes is inspired by all babies - those boen healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive. OUr goal is the day where every baby is born healthy and strong. But until then, theywill continue to champion the needs of moms and infants, bolstered by the dedication of volunteers and donors, and inspired by the wonder of newborn babies.

This is your chance to get the round of applause you so richly deserve while supporting the great work of the March of Dimes. Enter today, encourage your colleagues to do the same and join us for the Thirteenth Annual A.I.R. Awards on November 19th!
Sincerely,

Michael Young
